The Dogs Go to Dallas (picture heavy)

April 25, 2011

“Want to go bye-bye?” is all I need to say for my dogs to get extremely excited. They love road trips and we do too! This past weekend, we decided to venture out to Dallas/Ft. Worth, Texas to check some great parks, restaurants and more. Here is a recap of our adventure:

Of course we had to first check out the best parks we could find. Benebrook Lake Park had miles upon miles of trails to explore and was divided up with over 8 different parks to choose. Dogs were not allowed in certain beaches, but the park was big enough, so that wasn’t an issue. Dogs are required to stay leashed at all times.

We stayed at the La Quinta Hotel in Ft. Worth. We have consistently had great experiences there with our dogs and are loyal customers. 🙂

We had a hard time finding restaurants that had enough space outside to allow our dogs to join us, so that was kind of a bummer. However, the park admission is only $3.00 per vehicle, so we could have packed a lunch if we had planned it out more. Because of the sheer size of the park, we drove around to see what it had to offer. Here are our pups lovin’ the ride.

Road Trip!

Overall, it was a wonderful visit! There could have been more restaurants that had a pet friendly area, but the parks were beautiful and the dogs had a blast. It was very peaceful and there was very little traffic. We were the only people that seemed to have dogs out this past weekend! 🙂

  1. Great information about The pet friendly options in Dallas! We passed through there recently, but didn’t have time to thoroughly research the area. Next time we’ll definitely chech out that park!

    Hi Amy!
Thanks for taking the time to comment on our blog post. 🙂 Let me know what you think about that park. I wish we would have packed little lunches so we could have explored longer.
